Private reference, not a records office. Coronado Residents Directory cannot pull a file, certify a copy, confirm a current resident, or remove a person from a government roll. For an emergency, call 911. If someone is being stalked or harassed, contact local police.
Send a Records Question to the Right Custodian
The fastest route depends on the record. Use the Coronado street directory for a parcel and address chain, the Coronado city directory page for historical volumes, and the Coronado resident lookup page for one-person verification. City permits, plans, council files, and other municipal records go to the City Clerk. Deeds, county vital certificates, marriage licenses, and fictitious business names go to San Diego County ARCC. Court files belong to San Diego Superior Court.
- City records: submit through the Coronado JustFOIA portal, or contact the City Clerk.
- County deeds and vital records: use ARCC Recorder/Clerk services.
- Property ownership and maps: use the San Diego County Assessor property channel.
- Court records: use the San Diego Superior Court index and its Register of Actions paths.
- Historical material: make an appointment with Coronado Public Library or the Coronado Historical Association.
Coronado City Clerk Contact
For a city-created record, name the department, record type, address or project, date range, and any known person or keyword. A reason is not required for an ordinary California Public Records Act request, and most requesters do not need to identify themselves. The city normally gives a determination within ten calendar days; a written unusual-circumstances notice may add up to fourteen days. Inspection is free, electronic delivery is generally free, and paper copies are $0.05 per page.

Building records and plans should include street address, APN if known, permit number if known, desired record type, and contact details. The city may not retain every original plan, and copyrighted or sealed plans can require additional permissions. Do not treat an applicant or permit contact as a resident without separate evidence.
